UV Rays: UVA vs UVB

We all know the sun can harm our skin resulting in early ageing and even cancer but most of us don’t know how or why.

1. UVA

UVA:

If that’s not bad enough research show that UVA not only exacerbates UVB dangerous results but may also straight generate some skin cancers, such as melanomas.

UVB:
Shortwave solar rays of 290-320 nanometers.

UVB rays are more effective than UVA in generating sun burn. Therefore these rays are viewed as the main cause of skin cancers, (basal and squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma).

Sometimes called the “sun tanning ray”, UVB rays activate the melanocyte cell, (located in the bottom layer of the skin), to generate the brownish pigment melanin, making a color as a protection against UV rays.

So even if it’s a gloomy day and you’re generating in your car you’re obtaining revealed to the dangerous UV rays of the sun. That’s why it’s so significant to protect your skin with sun block and UV protective outfits at all times, (especially if you’re working, enjoying or travelling outside).
